OUR VALUES

01

NO INCINERATION / LANDFILL

This is not viable in a circular economy.

02

TRANSPARENCY & INSIGHT INTO MATERIALS

Due to a clear material passport, we will log all materials and their second-life function. With this value, we are frontrunner in Europe and will set the tone for the new standards.

03

MATERIALS REMAIN WITHIN EUROPE

Our aim is to keep all materials in Europe. With this strategy we support the European Raw Material Alliance goals to get a more resilient industry in Europe. However, some production processes or re-use can happen in other continents. Since our whole process is transparent, we always discuss such situations with the asset owner.
04

RE-USE OVER RECYCLING (R0-R9)

We will always try to implement the most valuable circular strategy on the different components of the wind turbine. Often this is the best solution for economic value, material value and CO2 emissions. To do so, we start at the Re-use and repair strategies, and work our way down to repurpose and recycling.

05

MAXIMAL CO2 REDUCTION

Some recycling options emit way more greenhouse gas emissions than others. In our current battle against global warming, we should focus on reducing CO2 emissions. That’s what we aim for. The focus on CO2-reduction can be found all over our processes, from using electrically operated steel cutting machines. Nevertheless, we are also improving the higher-end recycling options that emit more CO2 as this is an area full of innovation potential, as well as investigating options that allow for minimising virgin material use by re-using parts of the wind turbine.

06

CONTINUOUS INNOVATION

We are not there yet. Our cutting machines can be optimized, our plants can be cleaner and our emissions can be even lower. That is why we are always optimizing our process. Today we are part of an EU-Horizon project and of a Just Transition Fund project to further improve our process. If your asset brings new challenges to us, we will further optimize our process together with you.

07

INDEPENDENT

We are not part of one decommissioning party or bound to one country. We work as a co-operative joint venture, a structure where we can accelerate together, but where we don’t hold each other back. This also means we promote the individual works, because we don’t want to hold back the energy transition and optimization of material handling of our separate partners.
